I did a search for 6x9's and only found a couple threads about them none of which really answered the questions I have. Can you install them in all for stock speaker locations? I saw something about needing or using a backing or adapter plate, what exactly is that? I was thinking about installing these (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Pioneer/CDA/CarProducts/CarProductDetails/0,1429,1468,00.html) since I'm trying to stick with pioneer and I found them online somewhere for $85 a set. Anyword on these and what might be a better set if these aren't going to cut it and monies not really an issue. Thanks.

There's no advice anyone could give me? Even if it's just to tell me to what search criteria I should use to find the information I need, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Adrian
From what I understand, you can install them, but you need to do some modifications to the stock speaker holes. I went with Pioneer as well, but I choose the Pioneer TS-D680R 6" x 8" (http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?stk_code=piotsd680r) cause they took no time at all to install.

5x7's and 6x8's just fit with no adapter plates. You can get 6x9 plates but y when you can get an awsome set of 6x8's or 5x7's. I have the 680r's also and they are fricken sweet. They are a pioneer produst so you would still be sticking with pioneer. Just get 6x8's

thanks for the input, that helped me a little bit, but I think I might be going another route altogether, still working out though. Thanks.
