Hey i found this forum on another cougar forum. I own a 99 cougar. Its burnt orange and my decals are all navy blue. I have the terminator 2 wing. 18" Enkeis. I am waiting for my body kit and my air struts. They havent come in yet. My interior isnt dont yet because i'm not sure quite what i want to do with it yet..does anyone know if there is any replacer gear shifter knobs..since you have to pull up on that spring to get it to go in reverse..i've tried a few but they didnt fit..hope to get replies back..

Welcome aboard...
You can get these (http://www.ukcougar.com/cougarparts.html) knobs, they replace the factory knob, while retaining the reverse lockout.:)

Welcome to the boards! If you want to remove the reverse lockout...Just run a search, there are many threads about it. I did it, and it took less than 5 minutes. Any shift knob will fit after that.

If you are wanting to replace the shifter and dont want to remove the lock out just ask for a shifter with reverse lockout!! MOMO makes some, Richbrook as well, try www.customcougars.com, www.kustomz.com, and www.spmotorsports.com. Hope this helps you out!!!

Welcome Newbies! :)
Heather/Lowlifejoker, I'm not sure what you're looking for in a shift knob (or if you might have already gotten one) but another option available to you is the 01/02 Cougar V6 knob! Unlike the knobs from the 99/00's, it's leather-wrapped and pretty nice, and of course works with the reverse-lockout. The top is a satin-aluminum kind of look with the 1-5 and R shift pattern diagram. I've actually got one on my Focus now. Click below for pictures:
Pic One (http://www.digicomweb.com/neconw/03zx3/P1001697.jpg) | Pic Two (http://www.digicomweb.com/neconw/03zx3/P1001698.jpg) | Pic Three (http://www.digicomweb.com/neconw/03zx3/P1001700.jpg)
The pictures really don't do it justice. Without the flash, it's hard to see. With the flash on, it makes the leather look light coloured and dry, neither of which it is, and reflects off the top piece. Oh well, you get the idea.
Cheers,
Scott.
