When I am at the track my 1st to 2nd shift squelches the tires and when I am in 2nd I feel like I am pulling hard enough to squelch from 2nd to 3rd put but when I make the shift I hear a high pitched noise like a belt slipping!! (I am pretty sure this is not the case, because there isnt any belts that would effect the shift but that is what it sounds like.) Does anyone else have this prob?? Does anyone know what it is?? Is there a way to fix it??

It may be the accessory belt slipping. It is fairly common when the car is driven aggressively. Basically you have the alternator, a/c compressor, etc. spinning fast and when you shift the crank pulley slows faster than the accessories. The Goodyear Gatorback belt is supposed to eliminate this.

If it bugs you a lot and you spend a fair amount of time on the track you may want to consider fitting the 'no-A/c' belt.Dont have to remove the compressor and the the shorter belt has better 'wrap' on the crank damper and p/s pulley which stops the scream...;)
