I'm now at the point where I can hook up my oil lines (feed and return) for my Vortech, and after hearing your story I'm paralyzed with fear.
I'm assuming the top of the charger is the feed port and the bottom is the return, but we all know what happens when you assume.

Just think what would be the right way and then do the oppisite and it will be right. J/k You probably could get an answer over at ceg. Also paxton cougar how is the project coming?

Oil feed is on the top. My oil problem came from reversing the lines on a remote filter relocation not the SC. Motor is in the car and will be breaking it in over the next two weeks. Next step custom A/W intercooler and new design for long tube headers. If you have not installed an Accusump, I would stongly recommend that you do so. This solves a lot of problems WHEN DONE CORRECTLY!!!!!!! THIS WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF OIL STARVATION IN HARD RIGHT HAND TURNS AND ALSO IT WILL HELP BY PRE OILING THE SC.:)

How much does an Accusump run? Also, where in heck are you going to fit an A/W Intercooler?
I'll probably sit back and watch you make the modifications, then follow through once my cash comes back. Till then I'll be out at the drag strip surprising people :)

Pax you forget the accusump only works on pressure drop, when a bearing spins it doesn't have a pressure drop so it wouldn't help. It would however pre-oil the SC, but be careful that might blow out the seals, keep an eye on them.

I removed my windsheild washer resivor to made room for the Accusump. I think I paid about $300.00 for mine. I bought it with a whole lotta other stuff at the same time. When the system is up and working right it forces oil into the oil galleries if there is a pressure drop or oil pick up problem. I installed mine with an electric valve so as soon as the ignition switch is turned on oil is allowed from the Accusump into the oil system and preoils the motor before it starts. It should eliminate the need for a modified oil pan. The A/W intercooler will have to be mounted between the SC and Intake manifold, very much likes is being done on the Streetflight turbo Kit. I will have to get somer air flow from the fender well to make this work right. Something like the sidemount intercooler used in the Eclipse.:goofy::puke::smoke-g::rofl:

I'm trying to get the oil drain nipple into the oil pan and it is a pain in the rear.
I have a 5/8th nipple, which seems awful large, and the instructions call for a 3/8th NPT tap (obviously too small). I already tapped out the 5/8th and the tap goes in fine. The nipple refuses to catch and I'm afraid to force it for fear of stripping the soft aluminum.
you have any problems with the oil drain nipple? Did you wind up taking out the pan to put it in (something I'm hoping to avoid).

Hey Paxton, don't forget to double-check the oil lines. ;) :cover:
Brad, you too. Double-triple-and-quadruple check those oil lines. ;)

Install Photos So Far (http://atomicinternet.homeip.net/newmcneco/photos.asp?Navigate=SCharger02)
As you can see, my Oil Feed Line (line to the right of blue cap) (http://atomicinternet.homeip.net/newmcneco/photos/SuperCharger_09-21-02/P0000088.JPG) does a nice upside down u-turn. I did this for two reasons: take up the slack without pinching the line, and route it away from the fuel lines. My only other alternative was to route it on top of the transmission, which I figured would cause some wear.
The kit has a 14" Oil Drain line that I'm supposed to run the 24" distance from the superchager oil drain to my oil pan tap. Since I'm as of yet unable to alter physical matter and make it longer, I thought they included the wrong hose, but the parts list even has 14" listed.
They also have a cryptic diagram involving an air-check valve and various other components I at first thought was internal to the charger. Now I'm thinking I have to hook all this up inline with the drain hose (would account for my missing 10" of line). However, none of the parts involved are listed on the parts list anywhere.
I'm calling Vortech as soon as they open today and hopefully they'll have some answers.
