I am saving for my wedding (not till 2004), so it looks like the body kit... rims.... and all the other cool stuff i had in mind may be out of the question....

based on the lack of responses, i'm assuming the answer is a resounding "no way! sucka!" :P

I'm never going to be able to get married because I can't save money for a wedding.. unfortunately I can't make up my mind of what I want more.. perhaps it is the fact that I have been dating the same guy for 8 years and I feel that nothing will change anyways...
But then again can I register for mods?

the eclipse i can sorta understand .. they are just a sweet ride, but the s2000 is still a honda, yes its a beast of a honda, and handles and moves, but its still a honda .... stay away from the darkside .. how about TT roadster, yummmmm

I no longer consider Honda the dark side. I am a former Ford employee, and my dad worked at ford for 27 years.... hell... i even machined the blocks for the 99/00 2.5L v6, BUT, i still look at my friends that have had hondas... abused the hell out of them.. and they end up dying at 400k.... my topaz lasted till 105, and my tracer till 120k.... if the cougar dies early this will be my last Ford.

topaz and tracer? lol what did you expect??
James

they were both mercury... like the cougar....
and the tracer was an LTS model....
does anyone know what LTS stood for?? (it's kinda funny)
I dont know if you can compare the quality of a Topaz (late '80s/early '90s) to that of a Cougar. I mean, they're 2 VERY different cars, and they were built at 2 VERY different times.
You have to remember, the 2.5L Duratec is a pretty reliable motor, its everything else you have to worry about (ie: transmission).
Technology has changed ALOT over the last 10-15 years. :)
Comparing your Cougar to a Topaz is like comparing apples to oranges. ;)

like i said, i've worked at ford (3 different faciliites in engine and casting divisions), and i've seen their quality... and the amount of money they waste on useless people to try to get it higher... admittedly it is better than when the topaz was designed, but at the same time i look at the people working there.. the rampant alcoholism, people sleeping on the job, etc etc etc and i wonder how things made there run at all.
i look at the toyota factory in cambridge and i am in awe

well, i sure hope my Mercury lasts longer than 120Km (it's allready at 140Km)
By the time I'm done my three years at Sheridan I'll have at least 250Km on the beast.
Also, forget about the S2000. Get the rx-8 instead.
same weight (50/50 distribution), same power, 9000 redline, four seater, and rotary

can you get an rx-8 in a ragtop??
that's one of my requirements. Where's your commute to sheridan from??
"can you get an rx-8 in a ragtop??"
Nope!
If I were to get a convertible, i'd be all over the new A4 convertible. Thats a sweet machine! :)

convertable might be in the works ... but don't count on it.
also, i go to Sheridan's Brampton Campus from Guelph.

i have a few friends who work on the toyota assembly line, they actually enjoy being there, you will never see toyota have a strike, they are all too happy, and they get the cars they build for $500 above the cost of production.
edit: and please tell me what LTS stood for.

ya... the auto unions were originally a good idea... but now they're seriously affecting quality and the price of cars (on the line gm workers will be making around 31 or 32 dollars an hour with their latest contract)
LTS stood for.....
Luxury Touring Sedan
Hahahhaha

man i gotta get a new career
James
09-26-2002, 12:27 PM
it's not a career... most people that work on the line HATE their jobs, but the do it for the $$... and for that matter... who wouldnt?
the auto unions have way too much power.
