Well that thread wasn't up for long. What happened Mike, co-workers get on using your name or something. Cuz obviously that wasn't you because you never write your name at the bottom of a post.

Definitly time to change the password?!?!

Mike, Did you check to make sure this person didn't abuse your user name in other Chapters? And, I'm sure you already have but make sure to let Trevor know!! He may be able to track the IP!

Ok, let me explain as best I can.

Here at work we have "public" computers. Every time I log on to one of the computers here, I can't log off. Also, I can't clear the cookies because these computers have restrictions. So, basically, i'm screwed! Someone came on the computer after I finished, and started that thread. Rest assured, it was NOT ME! I made the last post, saying, "uhhhhhhh, I think its time to change my password!", then I locked, and deleted the thread.

I have to either, a) Change my username. b) Ban my work IP address, and only read the forums from work (dont know if this will work). c) Create a new user.

So, one of those 3 things will be happening tonight. If I do change my username, it will be something similar to my existing one.

I'm going to PM Trevor right now, and see what he can do for me.

ShadowCat

He cant log off. I imagine its because of the security on the computer.

I have public access and click logout when I leave the boards....thats why I NEVER click the "remember my password" prompt.

If it's an NT platform, my experience is that if you reboot the computer, it'll reset all the settings, and probably clear most of the new things saved on the drive (otherwise it would quickly run out of space). As for clearing other items, I found that by right clicking on the start buttom, you can access "explorer", and from there find the various things you need to remove (ie. internet history, temp folders content, etc.).

After getting busted I now do

tools
internet options
delete temp files
delete history
clear cookies

at the end of every shift...I work on both an NT and UNIX platform...works for me...also find your file labled preothorized password authentification files and disenge web from it...that works sometimes aswell

Guys, I understand all that. :)

Only problem I have is, the computers have restrictions! I can't get in to Internet Options. I can't right click. I can't clear history/cookies. It doesnt work.

I tried something, if it still doesnt work, I guess i'll have to have Trevor delete my current user, and i'll have to create a new user.

We'll see tomorrow. ;)
