The evening it arrives (Friday) the car is going up on Jacks and not coming down till the charger is installed. (hopefully only take Saturday).

This is the installation manual I've memorized (http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/pdf/manuals/4fs218im.pdf) if anyone is interested.

Of course all of MC-NECO is invited to stop by at any time after 6:00 Friday, and between 9:00am - 11:00pm Saturday. Friday won't be too exciting (drain fluids/move stuff/etc) but Saturday should prove to be interesting. Those that live near Redford are hereby REQUIRED to attend if for no other purpose than witness me hack apart my car and laugh about it.

Directions to my house (http://atomicinternet.homeip.net/directions)

Taking lessons from Puck I don't plan to have anything done for a week after it arrives, but there is always a possibility I'll be ready for Milan that wednesday.

No pressure puck!

EDIT: If anyone has a fuel line disconnect tool (as specified in the manual) you'd have my grattitude if I can borrow it.

Dave: Excellent!
Puck: Make sure I get my camera before you go to NOPI!
ChrisF: If I have my laptop/autotap back by then you're welcome to use it.
Jeff: I need to stop by Sears and buy a plastic fuel disconnect tool. COBM said Sears sells it. Let me know when you're working (between 11:00am and 2:00pm) so I can shoot the $hit for awhile.

Brad,

Unfortunately I'm tied up with best man duties for the next two weekends otherwise I would be there in a heartbeat.
I happen to have a plastic fuel line disconnection tool set bouncing around in my trunk that I can lend you if you're interested. Let me know if you would like me to drop it off for you (in your mailbox or something).

If you could drop it off in my mailbox that would be great Steve. Save me some $$ and a trip.

I put in my energy suspension motor mount insert today and discovered my mount was shredded on the top cross-hair. Needless to say I have new front/back SVT mounts on their way. Check your mounts: I can't believe mine were shot.

I've got the disconnect tool if you need to borrow it. I work tomorrow from 12-9 and I'll bring it along with me.

Brad,

In case you can't make it out to Sears to hang with Jeff, I'll leave it in your mailbox sometime tomorrow. You're pretty close to where I work so it'll be no biggie for me.

Keep us all posted on what happens too come the week of the big install. Although I'm tied up on the weekend, I should be able to drop by after work or something if you need a hand later during the week.

Yeah Brad, you suck dude! ;) You know I would love to help install this, but we have been planning forever to go to Cedar Point this Saturday. If for some reason the weather turns bad or we don't go for some other reason, I would definitely like to come help out with this. Even if it is to just yell at you and say you are doing it all wrong ;) Just kidding...I have to return the favor for your offer to help with the 2002 headlight swap anyhow. BTW, I put my ST200 strut tower brace in last night. It was kindof a pain underneath where the sway bar and gas tank are (long story). But it was so worth it, first my ASC sunroof was replaced (creaked like crazy), and now I have the brace in. My car has no creaks or squeaks or moans anymore, and it feels so solid. I can't get the tires to slip around corners if I tried. I still have one available if anyone wants it. I want to keep it local, save on shipping costs and hassle. Also, I want the Energy Suspension, I saw my rear ones, I was going to get a whole new sway bar, with new inserts. But I want the motor mounts and other ones also, it was pretty easy to install? Lemme know about those, I want to know how easy they are, and what gains you noticed, so I can hurry and order them. Yeah, so I will come help out if I am not in Cedar Point, and if Melissa wants to stop by, I can bring Carolyn to chat with her. She must be pissed at you for getting a SC!!
Later...Nic

My front motor mount was crushed so everytime I shifted I thought I was a smooth shifter (in reality the bucking that normally occurs was transferred to my transmission flopping around).
This is definately bad, and now I get the bucking again. Plus the wheel hop I had from dropping the clutch before is gone. I can only imagine the pain my transmission went through during wheel hop, but now I have a new SVT mount on order before I put in the charger. Everything will be very secure.

I'd suggest checking to make sure your mounts are good. I don't consider myself an aggressive driver (except on occasion) so a busted motor mount was a surprise (probably from a milan run.) The insert is basically taking the place of my busted mount, so I'd say they are definately worth the install.

Tonight I'm ripping apart the Upper and Lower Intake Manifolds and doing the CEG Overhaul to get all the gunk out and give me new seals in preparation for the soon to be pressurized intake.

Sorry I wasn't home Dave. I didn't read this post till just now.

I'm about 80% done but Vortech forgot a part so I have to wait till Monday. Doubtful I'll be ready wednesday, but it's possible.

Wasn't that a death trip to sears?

Fun times were had.

The best part was slamming the front on the ground when I was trying to leave.
