Just bought my first cougar, 99s V6, well pleased up to now, only thing i am not sure of is the rear lights. Found some covers on US site, was just wondering if they are available to buy in UK.
Thanks................Groove.

Are you referring to the V-tec covers? I'm almost certain you cannot get them here in the UK. There are some other covers available here but they are a rip off.

Bought mine from Summit Racing in the States about 6 months ago, got the front ones too....you can do everything online with your plastic....excellent company....you can even track their delivery to you. Took 6 days to arrive.

You can buy covers in this country, check out Motion Styling (http://www.motionstyling.co.uk/fordCOUGAR.html)
Beware, they are more expensive!
Also, you may get into difficulty when you come to an MOT test as they are illegal if the rear reflector has been obscured. UK version has holes that show reflector. Alternatively, you could buy a disc reflector and stick it on the US cover. Colin if you are reading this message please show him what I mean!!!

Well here we go, first time as I have had some problems establishing registration.

Caught Skinful's comments and I purchased both the front and rear light covers from /www.customcougars.com/cosmetic/Accessories.htm cost £31.03 per pair.

Very satisfied with quality of moulding, except rear do not fully conceal the red to either side of the boot lid. The rear moulding does not conform to UK Road Traffic Act as a reflector is mandatory.

Prior to having painted I drilled a 2 3/8ths (52mm) hole in the outside of the moulding to take a reflector lens. I pitched the position as much on conformity of appearance as legal.

Used a cheapo reflector as I have also purchased some Lucas rear lights just to obtain the glass red dome. Was not sure if tape would hold the weight of the glass, also they are not reflectors but they look the part!! Still searching, hence the cheapo reflectors.

Check out Motion Styling they look really good (2 / 3 times the price ) but the front covers I think look better than mine. The rear ones however look clumsy but are provided with the reflector hole pre drilled. However it does not look to be in as good a position from an appearance viewpoint compared to being on the outside and following the line of the lights.

Hope above helps. Sorry I cannot yet get any pics as my scanner remains down. Will send photographs asap through to Damo though. Regards.

Phew, that was my first time and I'm exhausted!!!!!

James, the owner of CustomCougars.com, as far as I know will gladly ship to the UK.... considering he sent a Wings West Kit to Australia!

Knowing how keen you guys are a correction to my earlier reply. The hole drilled was 2 3/8ths ie 60mm !! I only put the metric in for those UK under 40's !

Should also add my purchase was arranged via Damo, I recommend you consider this re shipping costs and absolutely no delay added as the guy is on the ball.

Groove,
Don't know why I didn't think of this earlier.
Go to the Interford site and check pic 2002-0811-13325AA ie 4th row down 2 across.

Thanks for that Mac1, lights look really good, will put my order in for the covers.
You said you got your lights via Damo, was that with a group buy he was putting together? or something else?
Had a look at the motion styling ones and agree that the placing of the reflector cut-out just does't look right, doesn't follow the lines at all.
