Ok does anyone know of any company that makes a shift kit for a 01 atx cougar. TransGo Doesn't & Level Ten Doesn't Either....Anyone know of any other places ?

Transgo is the only place I know of that sells shift kits. Are you sure they don't sell one for the cougar? I could've sworn I saw one a while back, but they might have cancelled it. Have you tried calling them and asking for a shift kit for the CD4E transmission? If you haven't, try that and see what kind of response you get. One thing to keep in mind though: The kit itself will be pretty cheap (probably less than $100). But installation is gonna cost you if you don't do it yourself. If they have a kit for our car, you might want to go around to so tranny shops first to make sure you can afford the installation.

I did call they don't make 1. I have a mechanic that can install anything I would bring him...

You could always get a chip...
Probably not as effective as a mechanical shift kit, but it will firm up the shifts some, and raise the shift points.

Go HERE (http://www.ctamotorsports.com), you'll see that they sell Diablo Chips (he can also get SuperChips). Then, E-MAIL (chris@ctamotorsports.com) Chris. Give him your computer code (dcw3), and see what he says! :)

Of course they can't get me a chip bc they dont have my computer code I guess. Anyone know of pack can make a chip for my computer code ? dcw3 ?

TransGo is the ONLY manufacturer of a shift kit for the CD4E.
It is called a Shift Kit Jr.
Comes with everything you need to repair the valve body.
You will also need a chip to increase the internal pressure of the CD4E
since it is electronically controlled.
I have a DiabloChip (LPQ4) and it works nice.
Too bad my CD4E isn't working nice anymore though....

If I'm not mistaken, isn't TransGo ShiftKit jr. only for bringing the valve body / transmission back to original specs and condition? IIRC I've heard a couple people it's not meant as a performance upgrade, just a "reconditioner" of sorts.
But please tell me I'm wrong...that this kit actually upgrades the transmission shift performance above stock, I'll be the first in line to get one. :banana:
