my system is in the mail and should be here by the beginning of next week. i got the Infinity Perfect 12.1 and a JBL BP1200.1 amp. anyways, once i get those and finish up my box everything, im gonna need some help on the wiring. i have an idea of what im doing...but i really dont wanna f*ck anything up. any help would be appreciated--except maybe scot's:cover:. so if anyone would wanna stop by..probably next weekend, thatd be great. thanks.

theyre 350 rms. and infinity said take that minimum and reccomended this amp. so ill be around 600w.

if i'm not mistaken a 12W7 only needs 1.25 cu FT each... very easily done in our massive trunks

Puck is right .. they need very lil air space when they are sealed.. you could put 8 back there if u wanted to ..

woohoo!! amp just arrived today-- i still gotta figure out how/where im gonna place it. ill prob build some kinda box..maybe with a plexiglass top...anyone have experience with that?? anyway, sub is comin tomorrow - box is complete.....ly messed up. and yeah, sunday would be great...although i dunno if i can wait that long...i may try to attempt it myself.

send the 20 bucks this way. amp is wired...just gotta wait for the sub to arrive:) ..2-3 hours according to UPS. anyway, i didnt do this yet...but how do i get the power wire to the battery. ive heard u have to drill a hole. if so, where exactly?

And you people wonder why I like my ATX. No drilling involved.

But since you have on of those silly MTX's you will have to drill a hole through the firewall. Than run the wire down along the doorsill, (than you could go behind your side rear panel) or however you want to do it, and than to the trunk.

Hmmmm could this have been the problem with mine??? Scot and I decided not to drill a hole b/c he said that you didn't have to! Instead we ran it up the side of my car (where the door shuts) and right into the hood.

no...urs is just f*cked up all over the place steph. anyways, i guess im gonna have to wait till sunday for some help. this rca output converter has to be hooked up to both rear speakers..and that involves taking all this $hit apart in my car to do something ive never done before...so im really not comfortable with that. and its about 100 degrees outside, so that makes everything about 100 times more frusterating. on top of that...the mdf on my box started splitting as i was screwing...which pissed me off further. and on top of that...my sub didnt come today cuz no one was home when the UPS guy decided to come by. if anyone can come earlier than sunday thatd be really great...i cant wait any longer.

tom my next day off i will come to your place and help you with everything that you need.... and here are a few tips....

WHEN PUTTING A BOX TOGETHER
use wood glue on edges and corners to help seal during and before and after screwing... WHEN SCREWING PRE DrILL HOLES! then after drilling the prescrew hole make a BIGGER hole the size of the screw head so the screw can go FLUSH into the board....
when done making box always ALWAYS cut out your sub holes and SILICONE THE SHYT OUTTA the creases and were the boards meet.. which means AIR TIGHT seal...

box has been built. drilled pilot holes with a countersinking bit. held together by about 40-50 screws, liquid nails heavy duty, and a $hit load of silicone. i think i got it all covered:)

u would be correct in that assumption. my hands were completely covered in silicone and liquid nails. i scrubbed my hands for 5 minutes and it did NOTHING. then i broke out the gasoline..worked like a charm:)

awwww damn. that sounds soooo nice.....everythings hooked up....still lookin for the answer to that firewall Q....

another thing. i bought a switch at radio shack..the guy said it 'was for cars'. anyways, when i hooked it up...it blew my radio fuse:( then i replaced it with another 15 amp fuse and connected the wires w/o the switch and it worked fine. did i hook the switch up wrong??

hehe gotcha. i tried drilling through that white plastic...underneath the dash with a small bit...and i ended up breaking the bit. anyway, i cant seem to get through and its pissing me off:(

just drill the shieeeeeet out of the fokker.... if i am not mistaken there is a lil black box next to ur clutch. should be enough room under there to go thru . gonna take some time to get thru the metal...........
