Accident #4 for the club

Nothing serious like the others, but a guy backed into my car last night in the parking lot and gouged two holes in my front bumber.

man that sucks .. someone hit your car in the parking lot ?
i dont know how insurance is going to handle that.
good luck with it, when all our cars are fixed, we should get together and have a beer or something ..

I was parked (parallel) to the curb like six feet behind him. I get out of the car, my lights flash, dude starts backing his tempo up....no big deal, then I hear a CRACK! I turn around and yell "hey WTF are you doing" he gets out "oh man...I guess I hit it....I'm sorry about that man, I didn't even see your car there" I reply "holy $hit....how could you miss it?".....after giving him a bit of $hit, I got all the ins info, but he's going to pay for the damages so we can avoid the ins. thing. My buddy is going to charge me $200 to fix it....$100 to fix (we're going to do it) and $100 for our beer.

fyi, if you get hit in a parking lot, and the person runs away, your insurance covers it with no effect on premiums. or at least mine did.

Price is $514 to fix it.....called the guy today....hasn't called me back yet.

Definitly right there...it's a hit and run if he drives off....no at fault..no deductible and no increase to your premiums...But you have the insurance info..so no problem....if he's seems as if he may back out of the deal.....out a claim through...at least it will be fixed, and fixed right....probably guaranteed for any future problems.

I'm seriously thinking aboiut just taking his cash and putting it toward a kit.....I can likely fix it myself...but we'll see

before you take the money and run, so to speak, i would be d@mn sure that there is no possibility of other damage, beyond what you can see. if there is, you may run into issues getting him to pay you, and that's just no good.
