View Full Version : Smoked an 3G Eclipse Type-R?? (LOL)

So I'm leaving the store with some spraypaint to redo some stuff and I pull up at the light next to a 3G Eclipse RS with all sorts of kanji characters in silver vinyl (red car), a marlboro sticker and a big 'ECLIPSE TYPE R' sticker.. some 16-yr old retard and his wanna-be gangsta girlfriend. He revs at me, and I'm like 'Uh, yeah, okay' and nod to him. The light goes and we take off, and I smoke him. Guess the Type-R sticker didn't give him as much power as he needed. :) (He could also have learned how to shift better. :tongue:)

yep, i mean, i really like the eclipses, i think they look really nice, and are very capable if you KNOW how to drive them :)
but still, doesnt matter WHAT car it is, even if it was a cougar... if i see a car with stickers, type-r badging, and its a punk kid driving... i would still laugh :biggrin:

Yea the new Eclipses suck imo. Well personally just don't like the body style. Reminds me too much of the cougar. And they too are still under powered. Although with the right mods they can still fly. I was smoked badly one day in the cougar coming back from home town, right outside of B'ham, Alabama. My cougar didn't even stand a chance heeh, but I think he punched some NOS as he swung by too. Don't there there is any way possible other than that, for a Eclipse to loose traction at 65mph and take off like a rocket.

I dunno why, I'm a ricer magnet. I always get the Type-R Eclipse, or the mis-shifting retard, or a beat up 80's Corolla with a SuperStreet window banner.. :shrug: It's either that or Vettes and other 'spensive cars ;)
Lol, I was almost tempted to put a Type-R sticker on my Trans Am, just to see if the ricers around here would do anything, becuase they don't even rev on me anymore...

hmmmm or maybe put the Type R sticker on my stang hehehehe grrrrrr. Kinda sucks, in the cougar I would get cars that I know I couldn't beat to pull up beside me and rev it up or pace me on the highway waving me off to race. Here in the stang, I get little powered cars wanting to race that doesn't stand a chance. The VW Beetle for instance, I am still trying to figure out what that guy was thinking. A stock beetle vs a stock Mustang GT. I don't see it happening :) sure his car was yellow but still.

the 4 cylinder turbo needed to stay from 2nd gen eclipses. The new ones are bigger, and heavier and could use some boost. I have an NT, but I have seen and been in turbo 2g dsms. THEY FLY! I watched a 1st gen awd spin all 4 tires thru 1st. 11 second car. Crazy stuff. The tuning potential from previous years was lost. They have a heavier car, and the non turbo engines don't respond well to mods. I want a stroker kit to make mine an all motor 200+ whp beast, then a turbo kit to push 400 HP!

nice lookin ride, the only thing that gets me is i looked at a new gts eclipse spyder and it was 30g's!!! 5 grand more and you could get a new cobra.
