"wonder what kinda of other mods you will need for this, hi flow cat, performance muffler, etc etc ..."

Well, you'll need the following:

Forged engine internals
New computer
Built tranny (including LSD)
Exhaust

I think thats it.

"Guessing my ATX is SOL "

No sir!

Just call a little place in New Jersey called Level 10 (http://www.levelten.com/), and your ATX will out perform almost any MTX!

"i have no idea about turbo pricing, but i would have to venture to say atleast 6 grand canadian "

Hmmmmm...i'd have to say it'll cost a little more than that. If you pay someone to make you tubular headers, bend all the piping, and install it all, you're looking at around $8000-$10,000 CAD.

That price however should include everything you need. BOV, Fuel Management, etc.

If you wanted to turbo your car, you'd be better off going with Chris Hightower & Terry Haines' solution. It's designed specifically for the cougar and contour engine bays and if you really wanted to, you could drive your car to Michigan and get it installed by Terry.

Or a better idea......try and convince the Sean Hyland people that we'd be interested in a GB on superchargers. I'd volunteer my car and I'm sure Goose would to. (we payed them a visit)

level 10 doesn't list the cougar or any merc car in their lil list of eligible vehicles, just so you know. unless i missed the joke?

When I talk to Mike tomorrow.....I'll ask him how many thousands of dollars they told him.

They said that they would need your car for about 4 days tho.

Now I'm getting silly ideas in my head

- twin turbo ZTS
- V6 ZTS (which some folks are trying to do)
- V6 twin turbo ZTS

heh. Too bad I got a slushbox tho...

Geeze, many thousands of $$$. Wouldn't it be cheaper to do the conversion and throw in a good clutch? A used tranny can be had for under $1000, and a clutch for about 750-1000.

I'm not sure if thats comparible to what you get out of the Level 10 upgrade. Anyways, Mike doesnt remember the prices either. Just email them if your curious......

A well modified tranny from Level10 could out-shift some of the best stick-shift drivers anyway. :) If you're gonna drag race, that's the ticket. :)

"ummmm price please... price... level 10.... just an estimate..."

First off, Level 10 does work on Automatics only. The price? From what I remember, about $2500 USD uninstalled. A Level 10 modified CD4E (ATX) could out perfrom most MTX-75's on the road.

"level 10 doesn't list the cougar or any merc car in their lil list of eligible vehicles, just so you know. unless i missed the joke? "

If you want prices from Level 10 for the CD4E you have to e-mail them. You can also find a lot of information about their work if you search the Forums.

just get a stick....

Some people just don't want a "stick". A modified tranny from Level 10 is NOT for everyone. It will shift hard. It will shift high. It won't be fun in traffic. If you're going to race your car, you can't go wrong with a modified and strengthened ATX. Its bulletproof.

Found the e-mail from Level 10.

I made a mistake with the price too, its about $2000-$2500 CAD!

Anyways, heres the e-mail:

Dear Sir ,

We do offer the pts torque converter upgrade, the pts hydrosystem, upgrade and the pts cooler kit. Now the upgrades work like magic on that slush box. We do know jeremy and he is a great guy!!

pts torque converter upgrade - $498.
pts hydrosystem upgrade - $698.
pts cooler kit - $89.

s&h is around I am guessing $155?!

Thanks for the inquiry!

Regards,
Sam

Hope this helps.

Mike
