no need for an aftermarket fuel filter...
K&N makes aftermarket ones if you want to spend the extra.

I just went to Kragen and bought a Purolator filter without even thinking about it. Is there any reason to spend more on a K&N?

Just use a good quality fuel filter. I prefer Purolator (they make the stock one too)
You will see nothing from spending extra money on a so-called hi-performance fuel filter except less money in you wallet.
