Color changing Trans Am

Today I saw a Trans Am that changed colors as you viewed it from differnet angles. It went from a blue
purple to maroon to bluish again. It this some kinda holographic paint or is that acid I did in the 70's
catching up to me?:confused:

Blue Chroma......it's actually a factory GM paint color. I saw a Coug with it when I was in L.A. and there are a few cars in my area with it.......it's pretty sharp.

Ford had a color that was very similar to that a couple of years ago. I think it was also on the Mustangs, but I could be wrong.

The Melina Blue Cougars go from blue to purple to blue depending on the light. We tees Bexcat all the time
about his purple car. I thought the color was purple when I bought my Cougar, otherwise I would have
looked at it more closely since blue is my favorite color. :goofy:

The chamelion paint used by ford on the mustangs was a green color that changed to purple and black etc... I think it is about 400-500 a quart and the problem is you cant just fix a spot if it gets scratched. The whole side etc.... of the car needs painted or it wont blend right. I had some on order to paint my Jeep I used to have but it was a little to costly. ICI Autocolor in cleveland makes the paint.

There are a bunch of Ford Probes and Thunderbirds with it too- blue/green/purple; doesnt look so great after about 10 years in the sun though. Most the ones I see look like crap. Looks killer new though.

It's BLUE DAMNIT! Melina Blue is what ford calls it. I rest my case. Now If I could only convince Becky it's blue. I've seen a color change paint on a big 80's Caddy and it was brown or purple kinda ugly, the caddy also had gold wire rims! Not sure if it had hydralics though.

Well if the owner of the car (ie: Becky) says it's purple then I guess it's purple.
