Well, I suprised myself.. alot... No I didn't win.. that wasn't an option.. :)
Results (http://www.scca.org/amateur/solo2/nat_tour/2002/rome/results.html)
I placed in the middle of the pack, which was better than I expected. I went hoping not
to end up dead last... Other than that I, the weekend was a blast, hanging out with competitors/friends
just overall a good time..
Saturday my tires were attracted to cones 3 or 4 of them.
Sunday, no cones and fast..
And for a first timer at a national event, what better than to run..First in the First heat...
Kinda wierd....

AND driving on Concrete absolutely rocks.. very sticky and I corded my Kumho's.... time for new ones..

oops!! Sorry Eric.. I must have fallen asleep or had a Senior Moment.. .:flushed:

Who is the sanctioning body for your events?? Most things in my area are Solo-II by SCCA

They are SCCA SoloII events, these are the national tour events, the ones they are sorta like regional events held in the
National Championship Format, if you follow the results link above, the results reside on the SCCA site..
I'm actually considering driving to Peru, Ind for the Next tour event...and May and a big May be looking for a co-driver..

Great job Eric! How does the national tour work. I know we have regional events, and the championship, but never have understood what the national tour is all about. What makes it any different than just going to your reginonal eventm, more prizes, different points, etc.

Well its run like most others, but it uses two courses over two days, combining your best time from both days.
The national tours are sorta like warm-ups for nationals. they are run exactlly like nationals..they don't count for anything more than
the event itself.
And so well organized... 4 workers for each worker station(2 runners, one radio/flagger, one writer records cars and cones)
and 250cars, done before 4pm.. :)
