Do you have? :) You don't have to list anything secret or that you just installed if you don't want, but feel free to list anything upcoming in the next couple of months for sure.
For me: Front and rear STB, custom painted stuff, Mirko Racing intake, soon a battery tie-down and gauge pillar-pod.

Mirko Intake, Roush Springs, Roush Rims with Toyo T1+, YoDude Dynomax (ordered), Sidemarkers, much, much more planned... :)
I drove it 650 miles over a period of 40 hours or so to the Mojave and back to visit friends over the holidays. The mods so far are making a lot of difference, most notibly in the handling arena right now.

How was your desert-bound gas mileage? ;) Or did you completely negate the improved mileage capability of the intake by driving fast as all bloody hell? ;)

I was doing about 27 miles to the gallon according to the computer. I don't think I drove slower than 80mph. In April when I went to Vegas and drove in a similar fashion I was getting around 25 mpg. So yeah I get better mileage

Seeing as you have the BBS 17's do you want the 16's that you got from Mark still? Cause if not, mayb LostRacer would be interested as he is sitting on 15's.
Just a thought.

Do the cams, turbo, and e-manage all at the same time. ;) And no, the emanage doesn't do ignition timing (I don't THINK, though it might), just fuel mapping... Check the AEM one, that one might do ignition timing but I don't know if it'll work with our ECUs... you can also see if you can get an aftermarket ignition controller, like an MSD ignition or something..

ooooo, the s2000 perhaps? that would be fun  the wild thing about that car is if you rev the piss out of it you can shave 1.5 seconds off the 0-60  that thing is an indy car in training  but whats scary is my redline will be only a few hundred UNDER the s2000s!!!
mike, i dunno about you guys but i got the new fangled VCT (variable cam timing) on my beast... so according to the dealership "you cant change the timing."
NorCalCoug
06-01-2002, 03:04 AM
Ah, you meant cam timing. I thought you meant ignition timing. Cam timing is changed by changing the cams. ;)
And Froge's other car is the SLK. ;)
TheNinja

but if its variable cam timing.... how does that work? that and i was speaking about the ignition timing when the dealership told me they cant do anything about it.

Okay, here's the deal. :)
Variable cam timing allows your valve lift and duration to be 'changed' while the motor is in operation (Kind of like VTEC, same principle). At higher RPM, longer duration and more lift is better.. at lower RPM less duration and lift is better. It's kind of like the Duratec V6 and why it has butterflies. You get the benefit of stronger pull at low RPM and the benefit of more HP at higher RPM.
Ignition timing is completely computer controlled in our cars, and it CAN be changed with the right tools. (Either an IAT mod or an aftermarket ignition coil with adjustability, or a chip of some kind). Ignition timing simply determines when spark plugs spark. The later it sparks, the more power you get (advancing timing), the earlier it sparks, the less power (retard timing). For turbo applications, you usually have to retard the timing quite a bit because of the nature of the compressed air/fuel mixture.. otherwise you'll ping like a sumbiotch.
If you want cam timing explained in more detail, pick up (last months? this months?) edition of Super Street, they go into detail about cam timing I think.
