Hey all. I'm about a day or two from ordering 2001 Ground Controls and I was wondering if someone who has experience w/ these could give me a hand?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Bryan

Whats up! I was going to reply to your pm but I saw this first
GC is kinda rough and easy at the same time. I would suggest getting new struts becasue that cuts down the assembly time since you will already have them pre cut.
INstall goes like this:
Cut the purches of your struts so that there is a 1/4-1/2 inch remaining. D shaped washers sit on these then the ground control unit sits on the washer. I had mine plasma cut which took about 30 mins. With a hack saw who knows how long that would take. Hence pre cutting struts makes it fast since you dont have to remove one strut.. cut .. then reinstall while your car is on jacks.
After that the GC instructions should be good. Depending on where you live ... I can come help and use my car as a reference. I hac a guy named (Jim) ISPRAY help me do mine and it took about 2-3 hours to do the whole car.
The ride is harsh when your slammed... looks good though.. .... performace is second to none.
Tony
PM me if you have further questions. I just didnt fee like posting a whole GC install how to .. since there are like 10 on the boards.

I live in Chillicothe, like an hour south of you Tony..
I'd be willing to drive to your place, pay ya & give ya some beer also
To be honest, I could care less about how harsh the ride is, I just want it to look good... I'll probably have it slammed most of the time

New struts? custom_images/emoticons/shocked.gif For me its time vs. money, and time is much less expensive right now ;) For help on these, I'll drive just about anywhere in Ohio (yes, even Cleveland...). Tony, I'll toss in a few beers too (... or at least the money for you to buy some) ;)
Twisted - yeah, almost the same cars... But you're not riding on 18" white team dynamics, r ya? ;)
I somehow have the feeling that I'll be doing this before the bodykit...
And do you guys know anything about those "new bearing" things you do to the GC's so that they won't wear on the struts so much?

Hey guys
Well here is the best thing that I can think of. Over the summer like in mid june or something. We can go to cleveland and use my dads ware house. Its really big.. possibly get both rides in there at once. We got some tools but will prolly need to get a few ... specifically a saw and a spring compressor. PM me and we will work it out.
***DISCLAIMER**** I am not saying I know how to "EXACTLY" do this install. I pretty much watched someone do it for me so I have experience but you catch my drift. If you are uncomfortable with this then say so I will not be affended. I dont want your money either.... Unless it takes like 18 hours or somerthing. BEER On the other hand is very much apprciated.

I just got mine installed last week. I know a place in Ashland that does them pretty cheap but it'll still cost you. Just a option if anyone needs it done quickly or doesn't mind paying a few bucks.

I got the ground control's from custom cougars. I think $409 shipped. The install depends on how much work you do. I paid $175 for the install & cutting of the perch. It would be quite a bit less if you cut the perches yourself. It would only be around $100 (maybe less) if you cut the perches yourself. If anyones want the contact info, please PM me.

Honestly I would go with the shop doing it. I can still help but they got air tools and lifts. Cya
