Have you tried the Meguiers Clay magic? I really like it, you get the results of using rubbing compound in about 45 mins and no threat of spider web scratchs. here are my order of operations: wash car probably the day before, wipe car down with Mineral spirits to remove grease and tar, clay magic, swirl remover/hand glaze, finally wax.

Seems like overkill - they both do exactly the same thing... But you're right about that claybar - it does wonders... It just takes freakin forever to do it :)

Wash and Wax finished in a lil over two hours. Helps when you use a good wax and have an open garage to keep water spots to a minimum as you dry. Man I even did the door jams! Next time I am going to use a clay bar if it is everything everyone says it is? I used 3M Liquid Wax today and I like that stuff alot, I(we,Dad) also use Meguirs Gold Paste Wax on our other cars and sometimes mine. Good stuff as well. Going to get my tail light covers painted tomorrow and then hopefully tinted Wednesday by Mcrabtree, or next monday in Marion at a place there. Then lowered and a Body Kit and performance mods.
Hope everything went well for you other people washing/waxing today!

I just spent 2 days washing my car, using the clay bar on my car, waxing, and shampooing the interior... Looks like a new car again!!

You guys should really try the clay bar I mentioned, left everything very clean & smooth... Well worth the time & money

Where are you guys meeting at?? I could still maybe meet up if its not too far from my house

Kinda depends on your idea of "not to far from my house" You DO remember we live in Cleveland right? Youre more than welcome, but thats kinda far to just wash a car dont you think?;) You must've gotten a little too close to Tony last night. I didnt know you could get a contact buzz from alcohol:beer: The car might get a bit dirty on the drive home.

LOL yeah good point bro...
I'll just do my thing here in Chilli instead

Actually man, I could bring my new beater car up & get her clean... I bought a 1985 Nissan Sentra, pimp mobile... I was thinking about going crazy with the spray paint on this one but I dont know yet :)

That's awsome! I wanna spray paint a car! You could buy that color shift spray paint and do a ghetto chroma paint job- who knows- maybe it would turn out sweet (would be kinda expensive though)

LOL Hey man, anytime you wanna help just gimme a holler... I'm thinking I've gotta put either a Type R sticker, or a NOS sticker along with the chromallusion paint job thing you were talking about... that would look badass :)

Or paint the car whatever color you want, then use the chroma paint to make a HUGE "Type-R" emblem of the side, hood, and maybe the rear too. Use a color that is within the shifting color's range then the "type R" would seem to appear and disappear...hell, something like that might actually look sweet in a custom paint job- like a giant cougar head or something...hmmmmmm.

Hey man I'm also buying a car for the Demolition Derby at our local fair this year :)
I am definately using that type of paint on this thing if you'd like to help... I've also gotta bust all the windows out, so this could be a fun experience for anyone who wants to help! Bashing windows, painting chromallusion Type R symbols on cars.... Could it possibly get any better than that??
