I bought the kit where the headunit fits on top of the stock hole, and there is a little cubby hole on the bottom. I can not figure out how to install this.

The instructions tell you to attach that peice of plastic to the headunit, and slide the din holder in and fit it in place. Then slide the radio in, then put the trim kit over everything.

Ok, how does that little plastic peice hold the radio in? And how is the din cage supposed to stay in place?

I don't get this thing at all.

what piece of plastic are you talking about? does it look like the plastic moulding attached to the back of the stock radio (the one that slides over the rails)?

if it is, fit that piece over the screw behind your new head unit. i suggest you slide the DIN cage on the radio first before you attach it. it makes no sense to fit the DIN cage into the hole first.....there's nothing that can hold it up. that's how i did my install. the back portion of the HU is held in place and supported by the plastic piece (goes over the railing) and the front is supported by little "inserts" i made so that the HU would fit nicely on top of the trim kit's pocket.

in essence i kinda assembled all the parts outside and then inserted the assembled "cube" into the hole. works and looks great. no problems

good luck! hope this helped.
