I had my car checked because I had a CEL and here is what I got. 171 and 174 That is a lean bank on 1 and 2. Here is what I came up with, tell me if you agree. I cleared out my precats and added the 2 MIL eliminator... now I have a light!

I think the MIL eliminators don't work and my computer is thinking I'm running lean, so the computer is compensating and adding more fuel. That is why my MPG is low and why I have no power! I can also smell gas.

So... I'm going to try different MIL eliminators and hopefully that fixes it! What do you think? Does that seem logical?

I got 2 things for you to check before going and spending more money..

1. Make sure your MIL Elim's are on your lower o2 sensors. This has happend before.

2. You might have an air leak somewhere either in your intake track or near your exhaust manifolds.. That would also cause a lean condition to be reported.

If these are not your problem... You may have faulty o2's or a fuel delivery problem.

Good point on the second thing! I just quickly threw on another set of MIL eliminators that gotbass gave to me. They are the kind that clip in, as opposed the other kind that I also have on, which I had to solder in. I drove 60 miles and the MPG is still at 24. The CEL hasn't came on but I bet it will! I'm going to try and tighten those bolts up on the Y-pipe. That is the only thing I took off. How little of an air leak could cause a lean CEL?

Wick,

Whats your Fuel Trim%'s? If those are maxing out then you know you have a fuel delivery problem. Otherwise it may be something with your superchip, pull it and put your stock one in and see what that does. Rick is going to let us know if we should still meet next weekend at his place. He might need to pull the beast apart and see if he can't get it running before Spring Zing then next weekend.

I'm not sure what the % is? But I tried the other set of MIL eliminators and the light came back on. What ever this problem is, happened when I cleared out my precats!
