Buenos tardes, Clive! Nada mucho amigo. Y tu? Solamente hablo un poquito de espanol ahora. :( ;)

Let us know how those Italian roads are. ;) I just don't want to hear your parking horror stories if you get into a big city. ;) (Actually, the horror stories I heard about parking in Rome were told to me by a spaniard... coincidence? I think NOT! ;))

Ciao Norcal, Come stai?,

I will try and write a road tale and post on the web. I plan to go to Pisa, Sienna, Florence, Lucca and if Anne and I are not exhausted maybe Rome ! We are staying 20Kms from Pisa so Rome is some 350 miles awaycustom_images/emoticons/shocked.gif I plan to "max out" the cougar on the Auto routes so I will post a Top speed and hopefully a photo of the speedo at around140!. I have travelled quite a bit in Europe. France, Belgium, Spain and Portugal but Italy will be new ground.

Sorry, didn't get anything about the interford show. NTL has been belly up for me for about a week now, and I refuse to pay £1 a minute to get some guy telling me its my computers fault :(

Still, post the dates and location and I'll see if I'm available. Haven't done much to my car though. By then I'll probably only have an exhaust, filter and strut brace. Not exactly heavily modified... :(

Got a decent exhaust priced up today. £325 for full stainless, grade 1 welding 3" single pipe outlet. The guy reckons I could see 10 -15 bhp with this. Does this sound about right?

Who are you getting your exhaust from?

Acsar exhausts in Sheffield. www.exhaustsuk.com Seem quite on the ball

I doubt very much if you will see that much of a power increase maybe 5bhp but i wouldn't expect any more than that and again if you don't make any other modifications you won't notice the difference, unless you change the whole system and fit a hi flow cat or take it out altogether. don't expect much more than a nice exhaust note.

I've read on the MEG site that the Ford CAT is actually quite good, its the pre-cats that are the real problem. Having said that, the standard Cougar exhaust is very very quiet, it must be quite restrictive.

Anybody out there with aftermarket exhuasts that can throw some light on perfromance gains?

By the way, put me down for the Interford show.

If you look at the pictures of my car you will see i had a custom made exhaust fitted and i didn't notice any increase in BHP, the exhaust sounded great from the outside but on the inside the noise was just too much, the boot space was amplifying the noise and in the end i had the exhaust removed and put the standard one back on. I am going to fit anohter system to the car but this time i will go for silenced back boxes.
