i know godan... can't remember his whole name..has painted his silver with his theme and someone else has chrome....mine are white...heres a couple pics..later on

I hope you intend on having them professionally dipped in chrome... cuz chrome paint will not work... (speak from experience)
1) it will rub off on your hands
2) will change to grey when cleared
3) will discolor with water

I was just about to say that cripsy. I heard u cant chrome them and have it stay looking good.

arghh. Thanks guys, I didn't realize. I really wanted to do it too. Chrome up front and back ya know? Maybe I can make some metal ones out of rolls of aluminum, then chrome those. As soon as I finish this darn hood scoop.:rolleyes:

You can chrome plastic. You just have to find a provider. I was at one time looking into getting a set of 99 - 00 headlights chromed But, it wasn't cheap. Something like 200 bucks.

i posted something a while back and got a lot of negative responses about dipping tail light covers in chrome, i think that it would be a good idea but someone told me that they cant be dipped because they are plastic. I ended up painting the metalic silver with a high gloss finish and my back end looks just like godans (thanks for the idea) on my black cougar and i think it looks awesome.

allright...since u cant clear coat chrome paint, what if i had some clear plastic that went over the covers even...protecting the chrome but not chemically bonded to it like clear coat........???:shrug:

You can have plastic cromed. How do you think they make the inside of the lights for the 01's? It's a process called vacuum metalizing and only certain places can do it, because it uses a big chamber to do it. I was looking into getting my 00' headlights chromed as well, but I wasn't gonna say anything till I did it, so everyone else wouldn't go do it before me. However, the secret is out now thanks to GnuLoCo!(j/k) :) 99-00 headlights would look bad@ss chromed! I E-mailed a guy in Houston that does vacuum metalizing and he told my $75-$100, but he could very well be far off. Just curious GnuLoCo, where did you get your price from?
