Dodge Durango

raced my best friend today in his durango (v8). first light we stopped at, we were even off the launch and then i missed second gear like a *****, i know. (you have to remember, i only have had a few months of experience with a manual transmission, and today was the first day ive driven it in over a month cuz it was in the shop, and prior to that i was grounded from it) so anyways, even after i missed 2nd, i recovered quickly and was passed him around 110 or somethin (i gave him that one anyway). the next light we hit. we were even off the line. but i was gaining all through the end of first and up. and by the time i hit 5th he was way back there. if u look at the durangos numbers, they are actually a pretty good competetion for the stock mtx.

Seriously though, that was a pretty nice kill. The durango isn't exactly a pushover. Why was you car in the shop by the way?

yup, i was drivin along and it jumped at my car. which is why there is only damage to the side of my car. if I would have hit IT, the hood would have been f'ed up at least. but no....the side....cuz thats where the deer wanted to hit me. i still got its hair stuck between the wheel and the tire as proof. ;)

yo, its funny you mention the durango now...

when i had the ATX cougar...atx people... i had a friendly race against friend of mine who ALSO had a new durango...

well, all it took was a good launch (hold down break while pressing gas) and i had him aaaaaallllllllllllllllllll the way... the whole 'race' was only like...10 seconds, but he was about half to one whole car lengh behind, it was great :biggrin:
it WAS close, but i walked away being able to say "yup, i won" and the only argument he gave me was "dude... its an SUV"
but still... V8, and a sh!t load of power... its still a kill i can be proud of :)

Thats interesting Tom.... because I raced scott stokas (friend of mine fr andover in a car club in west bloom.) anyways he has a Durango RT... and he killed me. Actually... he let me win by a half car length (no I was not driving badly at ALL) but I could tell he was holding back... saving face for me :)
