1st MN NECO meet - weekend of May 17th

Hey guys!

How about we start planning our first MN NECO meet? We have talked about it enough that I think it is time to put our plans into action. It seems that we may have a few WI NECO people in town the weekend of May 17th so what do you say? We could meet either Saturday or Sunday (*****please indicate which works best for you*****).

Ideas for meet include:

Car detailing (clay bar, wax, etc.)
Car modding
Photo opportunities
movie
bowling
Mall of America
bar/clubbing

These are just a few quick ideas I had. What do you think? Please respond with your feedback. I think it is time to make our chapter official with our first meet!!!!!

Sunday would be better for me but I can't leave for the cities till 3:00 on saturday mainly beacause I took mem. day weekend off to visit my WI-NEco buddies for a modding frenzy

Hmmm, doesn't matter to us, as long as we can go to The Quest Club on Saturday night. Everyone should come with us too!!:)

So, if it's gonna be on Sunday, we'd probably come down on Saturday and spend the night somewhere, then go to the meet on Sunday.:biggrin:

Most meets are an "All Weekend" thing...We just plan to do modding and more of the "necessary car things" on a Saturday afternoon. Though don't worry, Sunday and Friday are both blocked off for fun MN-NECO activities!

Well, I'm sure you're all disappointed :tongue:, but I just won't be able to make the trip. I'll keep ya in mind for a future date though. :biggrin:

We have lots of guests from all over NECO coming in for this meet! Some people from Iowa and WI-NECO are coming into town, and this thing is gonna end up big!

Dammit Patrick. If I can get my a$$ out of bed to post on NECO, then you can drive to MN for our first meet. I mean what kind of friend are you. ;)

I am not sure if this is after I get out of school or not. If it is I will be there! I think it is though because my finals start on the 10th so I should be able to make it.

Speaking out of experience....

I would suggest not to do modding or detailing as a big (especially first) meet... These are better left to the mini meets.. When you do modding, you split people up to work on their respective cars, and you want ppl to interact and hang out.. Not play with their cars in the close vicinity of others..

And..... It's just not that appealing to me. :)

7120 people are scheduled to be there...This of course would be for the mall of america trip and not all of them are cougar owners :)

We got about ten registrants thus far....where are my minnesota peeps at?

Good suggestion Ov3n. I didn't even think of that. Thanks for saying something. I am so happy to see that you have registered. I can't wait to actually get to hang with you!!!!

And I second AfterBurner, where is the MN interest? I mean come on guys! Don't we need to show why MN should be taken seriously?

Meet registration is not working.

Spacedog - Thanks for posting about the registration being down. We didn't think anyone would notice. ;) The server that runs the registration has had an IP address change that we weren't expecting. We are currently setting up a static IP with the company with which we registered the domain name. It should be fixed in a few days. In the meantime, the itinerary I sent out today should give you the necessary information about the meet.

Ov3n - Yes, there is an itinerary waiting in your mailbox. Check your e-mail. :biggrin:

The meet was great! It was awsome to put some faces with the names. Annie (Batgirl), John (Afterburner) and Jim (Estiem) were going to First Ave when we left them. I am not sure if they actually went.
