I can't seem to find any type of synthetics. I have found some cheap stuff and it has ATF on it. What stuff can I put in the ATX?

Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF
should be able to find it at just about any auto parts store. Prolly the most popular on this forum, and you will notice a smoother shift from it.

I imagine it's rather expensive to get like gallon sizes of this stuff. Can you mix like the cheap stuff with the synthetic? Like use a few gallons of cheap stuff then flush it with synthetic.

You can mix synthetic with regular, but why would you want to flush your tranny with the expensive Synthetic? Were you asking if it were okay to replace the regular with the synthetic and have no problems. I'd say sure. But double check. Later

I'm gonna flush with the cheap stuff. Then when I go to fill it back up use the synthetic. I figure it'll have a good 50/50 mix. I might drain out again and then refil and get a better mix?

You will never get all the old fluid out, unless you take it to a shop to get a complete tranny drain. Which is pretty expensive I think. But you could drain all your old fluid that you can, and fill back up with the synthetic. Then drive for a few days, and repeat. That should help get most of the old fluid out.
That's what I did anyway, and I noticed a difference.

When I drain and fill, only about 4 quarts out of 11 come out. I usually do 3 drain and fill cycles, which leaves me with about 3/4 new fluid and 1/4 old fluid.

I think I'm going to make a siphon and stick the tube to it down the dipstick hole and try to siphon out the fluid. If I jam it down in there, will it damage anything?

The reason why only 4 quarts come out is because the rest is stuck in our wonderfully inefficient torque converter... I don't think there's any safe way to get it out yourself.....

Okay. $2 down the tubes for the gas siphon :)

Okay. I'll work on it anyway then.
