What types of paint should I use on the pillars and general interior things? I have a black car with a yellow scheme going but I don't want to paint interior parts yellow because I think it will look tacky. Anyone want to recommend a color like silver or something that looks good? Any pix? Is there some prep required like sanding or special plastic adhesion paint?
Thanks a bunch,
Chris

Personally, I wouldn't paint the pillars any color other than black if you were going to paint them, but painting them a darker color would make the car 'feel' smaller inside. As far as vents and other things, here's a pic.

We used several very light layers of Duplicolor 'Silver charcoal' import automotive spraypaint, and then one or two very very light layers of Duplicolor 'Silver' metal flake spray to try and duplicate the effect of the stock guage cluster on the 2001/02 and the trim. It came out really nice. :) Viz clearcoated his as well (Though I'm taking mine out sometime in the next couple weeks to clearcoat mine). For 01-02, we had to sand off the rubberized coating the vents already had on it, in order to get proper paint adhesion, and after having it on for more than a month, having it in the sun, and so forth, I haven't noticed any paint cracking on them, nor does the paint rub off.

I want to do black but the car gets hot enough as it is and I thought a lighter color may help with that. Also none of the parts in the car are actually black are they? Maybe I should find the dash color or something.
Vinyl dye works better than paint, on the pillars. The pillare flex, meaning you have to put more time and more care into them, or the paint will chip off. You can primer, paint, and clear coat the dash trim peices, because they don't flex. But I would recommend getting some SEM color coat, black looks GREAT.
