I plan on doing this in the near future. I also plan on getting rid of the pushbutton to get it out of park. From what I have been reading....to disable the pushbutton.....all I have to do is take the plastic tube and spring out...right? I wanna make sure I gathered the right info. Also.....when I change the shift knob....I plan on using a knob usually for a 5 speed. I know thos usually screw on to the shaft, and mine is held on with a torx screw. How can I make a screw-on type shift knob stay on? Do I need to tap threads on the shaft?

Great mod. You'll shave .1 seconds off your reverse to Drive shift.

Why don't you just get a Razo push down style shift knob. It looks like a manual shift knob but all you do is push it down to switch out of park and whatever other gear you need to goto. They're really nice.

I was looking at them too. I am just trying to find out so it opens up my options. I also heard that Momo makes some auto shift knobs? Anyone know if any of them are push-down?
