Im thinking of getting headers but is MSDS the only ones that make headers for our car? I heard James was working on another company making some....is it going to be worth the wait james?

Also, where can i get the MSDS besides spmotorsports.com?

Thanks

You can call up MSDS directly and order from them. At least that way you get to deal directly with the manufacturer.

SHM Makes Stainless Steel Long Tube headers, but they are VERY VERY expensive and will run you 1100$ just for the headers

Does anyone know what the difference would be as far as HP between the MSDS and the SHM longtube headers? You'd thing that since they're almost twice the price of the MSDS and don't even include a y-pipe that they'd give you like twice the amount of power.

They are 2X the price because they are stainless and equal length long tubed, in theory the SHM should provide better HP because they are equal lenght however I don't beleive that is the case, which could also be due to the fact that you need substial mods in order to fully utilize the SHM headers.....

as for the y-pipe thing, you don't use a Y-pipe with the SHM headers, you end up going with a Custom TRUE Dual Exhaust

Puck, isn't that a y-pipe in those pics? i do see how you could easily have a true dual though...but couldn't you also do that with the MSDS and a custom exhaust?

i beleive just about every CEG member who has the SHM headers has them running true duals..... you could do it with the MSDS, but it would be easier with the SHM ones

SHM setup comes with that Y section connected to a high-flow cat, but notice that the stock locations are not used ... this means that your existing cat-back must be modified to fit into the system. What some people at CEG are doing is having custom true-dual exhaust system built that tie in where the SHM Y pipe mounts, which if you notice is also, not the stock location ... the SHM front header terminates after the channel, not like the stock on that terminates in front of the car.

has anyone contacted other manufacturers about the possibility of headers for our cars?

Weapon-R will be coming out with SS shorty headers for the 2.5 & 3.0 Duratec very shortly. Keep your eyes open for an announcement from Weapon-R in the coming month(s)
