View Full Version : Another ¿Q? for the experts
Ok I got my car back last week from getting the new motor installed, drove it a few hundred miles and everything was ok, so I installed my dual exhaust system (Pacesetter incase anyone is wondering)... Anyway, the install went ok, I ran into no problems or fitting issues, ran the car for a few more days with no problems. Now all of a sudden the Emissions indicator is lit up on my dash and won't go out(solid, not blinking). I've refilled the car twice and the gas cap is not loose. (I only use 93 Octane fuel) I don't hear or see any apparent leaks. Could one of the sensors have burned out? Is it possible that the car is tripping out because there is faster exhaust flow? Input appreciated of course.:shrug:

I would check the connectors to the O2 sensors. When I changed my y-pipe, I didn't plug it all the way back in (thought it was) and got the same light. So if you got your engine replaced maybe it wasn't plugged in all the way and wiggled itself loose.
Go to a local mechanic, not the dealer, and have them pull the code.
Shouldn't be more than 30-40 bucks.
Beats guess work!

might I suggest disconecting the battery for 15 to 20 mins
reconnect it start & run the car for 20 mins
that will clear the memory on your car and reset the ECU
Sounds like a good idea. I'll have to give that a try today and see what it does.

Gotta agree with Dren on this one, the ECU has to re-learn.
You didn't do that right after the install?
Most definitely try that first then. After every mod you should always reset the ECU!
Yeah, didn't reset it, never unplugged the battery to do the exhaust.

Well?
Resetting the ECU did the trick. Thanx guys.
