I remember reading somewhere that if the production date is before a certain date then you have the svt lower manifold.

Anyone know about this???

I believe the newere cougars with returnless have the larger lower but still have the 17 injectors where as the svt has 19's

Returnless=new "svt" lower intake manifold....

My factory stock lower still had the residue from the svt sticker on the bracket that they pulled off..... it IS an svt part. So basicly... if you have a cougar with a build date after 5/25/99 or whenever the switch was you have a svt lower intake manifold.

When I put in my 19# injectors I verified that the SVT LIM and mine matched.

To find out your production date all you have to do is read that little sticker on the inside of your drivers side passengers door. :biggrin:

Sure it does. This means that you can get the LIM and it won't be a waste of money. If anyone is interested I have one up for sale:

Does anyone know what the bore size is on the regular LIM as opposed to the SVT LIM?

Non SVT LIM are 31/32mm. SVT LIM are 34/35mm.

So my '01 Cougar has the SVT LIM already? And I just wasted $275 last Thursday on purchasing something that I already had stock? Which SVT LIM is it that comes on our cars? The '98 or '99-00 SVT? I believe one is bored out more than the other.

I believe you have the later SVT manifold. And no, you didn't waste your money because you got a set of 19# injectors and now you can sell the LIM.

Hey, MC, could I have that to a few more significant digits please? I would like my measurements a touch more exact. :biggrin:

Thanks guys!
