View Full Version : remove flip out ashtray thing . . . .

I dont know if it is just the 01-02's that have this . . . but i want to know if there is way to remove the flip out cover on the ashtray under the headunit . . . and put something in place of it . . . like this http://www.cougardb.com/image.php?id=2227 . . . thanks

actually, it looks like he just removed the ashtray unit (at least thats what mine looks like with the ashtray removed). it just slides out.

That is the non-smoker package. That is what I have on mine. Post in the want to buy section and maybe womeone will swap with you!

Or, do what I did... take out the console, get a dremel and start carving it out and build up whatever new stuff you want to add.

As far as actually removing your ashtray, just pull it out.......

No, just finished that last week in fact and got the console back in the car. They're actually 3.5" and 5.25" computer drive bay controller devices that I modified for my usage. The annoying part was getting the +5V needed for them as computers supply both +5 and +12 Volts.
