Well as per my last post my rockford headunit is scrap. So now I need suggestions. I need a headunit with 3 preamp outputs so that it has a seperate subwoofer settings. Has to be under $300, cheaper the better as long as the quality is good. Also a MP3 playing head unit is a plus. So any suggestions?

I think it's gonna be kind of hard to find one with three RCA preouts for under $300 unless you've got some sort of hookup. Your best bet would probably be to look at Pioneer or Sony.

I believe that most companies are coming out with new mp3 players right now. I just bought the JVC mp3 player from the Crutchfield outlet for around $330. With enough searching, you might be able to find one of last years models. BTW-I've read nothing but bad things about the Sony mp3 player, so make sure you do your research:).

You should consider the Pioneer Premier DEH-P730 from MMXpress.com (http://www.mmxpress.com/Pioneer/dehp7300.htm). They are selling it VERY cheap right now.

That's an AWESOME price! If I didn't already have a headunit, I'd be all over that! I think those things are around $300 at cost, so that's an unbelievable deal.

Holy crap! I'm getting a good sized tax return, and wasn't sure what to spend it on. Looking at that deal, perhaps I'll start audio upgrades sooner than I thought! custom_images/emoticons/shocked.gif

Keane, are these trustworthy people? Just seems too good to be true.

Yes, the "people" at MMXpress.com (http://www.mmxpress.com) are VERY trustworthy! John (john@mmxpress.com) is the principal owner & founder; he started the business back in 1997 or 1998. He and I have known each other since then and I would consider him to be a good friend. His prices are low, but he's not stupid enough to make them low enough where he won't make some profit. John (john@mmxpress.com) also doesn't advertise any products on his website unless he has them in stock. If you order it, you know that it's getting shipped out from MMXpress.com (http://www.mmxpress.com) in the next day or two, unlike most internet "businesses" that don't keep any inventory and rely upon ordering product from a wholesaler or distributor and having it transshipped directly to you. That's how he's been in business for so long, unlike some of the internet car audio businesses that will sell products for 2% over cost but who never last more than a couple of months because they don't make enough to cover their overhead and because of customer complaints when products don't arrive in a timely fashion.

I looked at the site in detail last night, and realized that a lot of those pioneer head units allow you to upgrade to what I'm assuming they're referring to as the Premier (they called it Premium) model for free! Again, I wasn't planning on doing audio for awhile, but these deals are simply unreal. Especially for the new Pioneer MP3 player they've got out. Any idea how much a stock CD player + changer goes for nowadays? ;)

Keane, I'm sure myself and the rest of NECO can't thank you enough for your help! You are the Audio god. ;)

Here's the deal. They can't advertise the Premier line on the internet. Premier isn't authorized for online sale, by anyone. So they are advertising the regular line and then offering you an upgrade to the "Premium" line. They don't normally play games with distributors and manufacturers, so this must be a one-time thing.
