I was wondering what you pay on insurance. AAA wants $2500 for the year. Going to try State Farm and Allstate when my dad get's off the phone. God being 18 sucks for insurance.

My mom works for Sate Farm and she said that AAA likes to rip teens off. I pay $640 every 6 months for State Farm full coverage and I'm 19.

AAA and state farm are pretty close in price. AAA was cheaper when I was 18. My uncle owns a state farm office and it was still cheaper with AAA. I was paying $1500/year when I was 18 (full coverage) and I'm down to $800/year now that I'm 21. The cougar is classified as a "sports car". Being that my family owns 4 cars, I have an alarm, dual airbags, and deans list student-I was able to lower my rates quite a bit.

since my dad works for ford....we lease from the company (ford). my whole family is covered under this 'no insurance deal' and i am covered by it until i actually BUY a car (which im considering with the cougar) or until i am no longer dependent...meaning out of college.
...i was actually thinkin about this earlier and i wanted to ask u guys your opinion on this. my lease on the cougar is up in two years. at that time, i can either buy it, or see if i can extend the lease. if i buy, i can finally do some heavy modding to my car which i REALLY wanna do, but ill have to pay for the car and the insurance. if i lease...there is no modding, but no insurance. which would u choose?
