here it comes!! still deciding on headunit though, but since i get 50% off at work, why not take my time?? :)

2 Xtant X1044 (10" dual 4ohm)
Xtant A6001 (600W @ 2ohm)

MB Quartz 5-1/4 fronts, 6-1/2 back. Still deciding on amp for these.
Considering Xtant A4004 (50Wx4 @ 4ohm)

Custom install (all modifications and install are free from work might i add..hehehe) consisting of a false floor for the subs, plexiglass amp rack w/green neons and my choice of carpet or vinyl.

I went with the xtants because A) they sound really nice and B) i get them at a cost that would make some people cry :)

And i couldnt resist the MB Quartz.

what do you all think i should do for a headunit? I'm looking at an alpine, but i dont know if i want to part with my rockford yet. any comments, critics, or suggestions are more than welcome!!

You already have a Rockford Fosgate head unit? Why spend more money? Just use what you've got.

About your subwoofers, is there a particular reason you chose Xtant? They seem to be great subwoofers, but I'm just curious. Have you listened to them and compared them to any other brands?

About your mids & highs, did you mean MB QUART or are those some knock-off speakers like Kenford or Rockwood?

All in all, it sounds like you're putting together some good equipment. You might want to consider using the same sized speakers front and rear, or at least putting the larger diameter speakers in front. A 6-1/2" set will be able to play lower than a 5-1/4" set, which can improve your sound quality. Also, you might consider just using a more powerful two channel amplifier on your front speakers and using deck power on your rear speakers because you don't need the rear speakers to play as loud as the front set. Good luck.

I listened to them at work the other day and one of the install guys has them in his sebring. oh boy do they sound nice :) the tens hit just hard and tight enough to make some noise and not destroy the overall sound.

I mean MB QUART. The good kind, handmade in germany. the QSD 213 and QSD 216's probably. not the knockoffs.

about switching the front and rear, sounds like a good idea. i think i'll do that. :)
thanks for the info man.
