How do you permantly install interion neon lights... to the cigarrette lighter?
I was thinking, how about having one of those little speaker wire boxes from radio shack and install IT to the cigarrette lighter, and installing neons into it. That way, whenever I added more I wouldn't have that much work to do, just add it to that little box.
Also, I want to install a neon light onto the headliner.... but how do I fix it the headliner without making it permant? Any ideas? For now, I have it stuck between the two backseats..

Hey,
If you want to install interior neons permanately, you're going to have to connect them to a constant power source and use a switch. I have neons under the dash up front and under the speaker grills in the back seat. The way I did it was, I ran a wire from the battery, through the firewall (look under the driver side dash towards the engine and you'll find a fairly large opening), to the center console. I drilled two holes in the driver side console (that plastic piece next to your leg) and hooked up two switches to the wire coming through the console. I then ran the + wire from the 2 neon transformers to each of the switches, the - wire to a ground (a screw near the floor) and voila! Neons with a neat little switch panel :)

See... thats the difference between me and you. I'm thinking easy. Your thinking long hard and complex.
I want something that doesn't require much effort  Like, my little speaker box idea. Would that work?

I hooked my neons up to a fuse inside the car, that only comes on when the car is on. That way you don't have to go through the firewall.

Also, I have noticed some neon lights come with built in transformers.. what is this?

It doesn't really take THAT much effort, considering the hole in the firewall is already there. But I guess you could use your speaker box, I don't know where you're gonna put it, but you can try. I like to hide everything but the switches and the neons, thats why i'm using little switches I got from Strauss Auto for like $1.99. The transformers are another thing I like to hide. They usually come with 2 neons, and you have to plug them into it, then run the wires from the transformer to a + and a - source. The larger, single neons come with a built-in transformer that you don't have to worry about. But with your speaker box, those are switches on it right? If so, you just need to run the wires from the transformer to the switches, Then run a constant 12V wire from, say the battery or fuse box, to the speaker box.

those aren't switches, they're spring clips for inserting wire. Just pull out the little plastic trim piece around the cigarette lighter, unhook the wires that go into the back of the lighter, and splice the new wires with switch in-line into these and replace the lighter and trim. woala power to the neons

So if I do the little box thing, I have nothing else to worry about as long as I dont put more then X amount of neons (or anything with power). Right? Or is there other stuff I don't know about?

Where do you live? I'm not scared to wire... Did mine myself. Even put in an inline fuse. Gotta love borrowing all the equipment I needed from work.

Word to the wise, if you're going to do it yourself, make sure you pick up a couple of 7.5Amp fuses, hehheh. I went through 2 packs of those installin my trunk neon and interior neons. ;)
