i was drivin home from the mall with my sister, and i merge over into the right turn lane behind an eclipse gt. i was thinkin how ive always wanted to race one of these. well we turn right, and the road expands to two lanes, and as it does he merges over into the other lane and takes off. i smile and take off after him. we ended up side by side at a light. my little sis is all excited, and makin faces at the guy--he couldnt have been older than 19. well the light went green and i had the lead from the start. through second i held about a half car length lead but he was kinda gaining on me. in third i started pullin away, and by the time i got to fourth we started to hit traffic so i slowed down....he decided to speed up and weave through some pretty heavy traffic at about 80mph. i just let him go. i really didnt expect to beat the guy. from what i hear, the gt is some pretty good competition for the coug...a stock coug anyways.

Well, a few minutes later i find my self drivin behind a gold honda civic ex....the gold was pretty nice, i hadnt seen one before. anyways, i didnt pay attention to weather the guy had any mods....but im fairly sure he did. i know these civics are pretty slow. anyways, we lined up at a light and from the start i had about a 1/4 car length lead....i hit second and hes keepin up with me. im thinkin wtf? i should have smoked this guy by now. end of second and into third i started pullin away....then i had to make my turn. i didnt notice an exhuast on this thing. maybe he had some other mods...or maybe im underestimating the civic?....

He was probably in the auto, since they only run mid 16's in the 1/4, similar times to the Cougar. Manual GT, on the other hand, runs low-mid 15's bone stock, depending on the emissions spec.

I'm not sure how good your auto trannies are, but our sportronics seem to be pretty horrible, just by looking at the average times... There seems to be a lot of loss. :( I don't know though, I've never actually driven one.

Ahh well, anyway, good kill. ;)
