Well, I had my car in to Dixie last week to have my IAC Valve replaced, and after one day of driving, the moosing is GONE! WOOHOO!

I was moosing for way too long and I just couldn't take it anymore! It's great having it fixed........eventhough I had to pay for the part.

I couldn't take the noise anymore!

It was funny for a while, but then it became annoying, especially when the car felt like it was going to stall when I was at red lights!

Actually, it did stall once, while I was waiting to make a left turn, the light turned yellow, and my car was moosing away, when I went to hit the gas, the car shut off! Not something I enjoyed!

I feel much better now, knowing its fixed!

did your car stop doing it when it finally warmed up?? cause the moosing for me is only when i start it in the morning and for like the first 10 mins or so

Yes, it stopped when it warmed up, but for those first 10-15 minutes I was afraid to let off the gas!

Why? take it to Dixie leave it there over night and they will fix it for free!

Dom, How much did it cost you?

I fixed the moose in both my Contours. Cost 25 cents each to buy a 1/2" copper plug, drill a hole to keep the suitable amount of throttle hang, and install. Takes about 5 minutes per vehicle. Real easy and no more MOOSE.

Christina. Actually, the SVT still has warranty for another 2 years, if you were referring to my post. :)

Brand new IAC cost me $100. If/when it starts again (which hopefully won't be for a long while), I'm going to do the T.H. fix as Chris did.

Moosing is a noise that comes from a bad IAC Valve...

Whatever you do, Don't let this problem go. The "moosing" will get very loud. If the car is still under warranty take a printout of this message board to the shop with you and politely ask the lead technician to check out this problem and have the IAC valve checked specifically. The part number for this beast is ""XS2Z-9F715-BB"" This only costs $70.20 to buy it yourself.
