Ideas about my redneck exhaust

I lost one of the two mufflers on my dual dynomax exhaust, and I was under the vehicle yesterday trying to do some repair work. I put a metal cap in the end of the exhaust pipe on the side that the muffler fell off. This means that now the exhaust just flows to the left side. It was just a temporary measure until I can get the thing fixed, but what I was thinking is this. I wonder how much h.p. I would gain or loose if I removed the cap and let the exhaust flow unrestricted ? I wonder if this would work for racing?

i think it would be bad if the exhuast would be realeased under your car,. it could melt something. i would keep it capped off for the time being

What I mean is removing the cap on a temporary basis just for racing. I will have to take the G-tech and test this theory sometime to see if there is an improvment. I probably will just loose alot of torque.
