would the heads from the 3.0L duratec work better than stock 2.5 heads in turbo applications? they have bigger valves and lower compression ratios....

Get the heads from a 2001+ 3L as they have the waterpump on the correct side. If you could get a whole 3L from a 2001 Taurus, Sable, or Escape/Tribute, that would be ideal. And yes, the lower compression will be good.
