How many cubic ft is our spare tire well? I'm talking flush with the trunk floor. I need to know how much I'm gonna have to raise my floor. Thanks!

It measures out to about 1.84 ft^3, but don't forget that if you're going to use it for an enclosure that you will lose airspace for the basket & magnet of the subwoofer. You will also lose airspace for any and all materials used (fiberglass matting, MDF, sound damping material, etc.) in building the enclosure. Good luck.

Keane to the rescue again! Thanks! What weight matting should I use? It's gonna be a combo of fiberglass/mdf.

Jeff,
You really don't even need to use anything expensive because all you're going to do is line the bottom of the well with the mat. It isn't really there for structural support. Because of that, you can easily get away with using some medium to medium-heavy weight fleece. The same material used for making sweatshirts and sweatpants. You could even cut up an old sweatshirt and use it, but your local fabric store should be able to hook you up. If you start doing something where you need something REALLY stretchy and it doesn't need to be insanely strong, try using nylon cheerleader outfit material. It's a breeze to work with because it's so smooth that you won't have to sand too much afterwards when it comes time to wrap it in vinyl or to primer and paint it. Good luck.
