Well... i was in Radio Shack yesterday... just taking a look at all the cool electronic stuff that's come out in 2002 from them... and I realized that just about everything in the store was on clearance... i was slightly confused... but then I realized that the reason for that was because a lot of the 2002 stuff has different SKU numbers or different packaging from the 2001 stuff....
Well... I happened upon the Car Audio aisle where they had a bunch of can antennae for sell... really cheap... and i see this little 13" "rubber ducky" style replacement antenna... for $2.99. Of course... being the impulse buyer that I am, I snatched it up and bought it... with the hopes that MAYBE it would fit the cougar and look good at the same time... but if not... i would only be out $3.
Today... when I got to work, i remembered i still had it in the back seat, so I pulled it out with all of the thread adapters (there's about 5 of them) and pulled my stock antenna off. I looked at the default thread in the antenna and thought that it looked mighty close to the stock thread, so I screwed it on to the car... PERFECT FIT! So I get it on all the way and notice that the antenna base lines up NEARLY PERFECTLY with the stock antenna base holder on the car!!!!
Still skeptical about my purchase... I turn the radio on to check the reception... and to my surprise... no change in reception!!!!!!! :)
So... I've spent $3 and got myself a stubby antenna for the car... the changes the look drastically... and looks REALLY REALLY nice! I'll try to post pictures when I get my CD-R working again so you can all see it! Also.. for anyone that's interested... they had about 3 more of the antennae at $3, but the regular price is $5 (believe it or not!?!) So... if ya want a cool looking antenna... take off over to Radio Shack and get yourself one!!! :):tongue:
