Well, at least he'll have a place to put an in-dash DVD w/fold out screen without worrying about blocking vents! :)

Haha, except for all the cool digital stuff in the middle. I'm sure it'll look cool when it's done though.

can you say 1970's especially that blue color. perhaps at least in a 21st century carbon fiber or something.

What is all that stuff in the middle?

I looks like the controls from Back to the Future.

Actually, it doesn't look that bad. I still prefer the stock dash. Looks more 'sporty' but I like the guages.

<------- still confused!

Did you remove the entire dash cluster with the speedometer and everything, and remount it in the dash? (if so, holy crap..how hard was
THAT?!?!) custom_images/emoticons/shocked.gif
OR.....are you putting it back on by the steering wheel, and the cluster in the middle os for additional things you have added and such? (if so, holy crap, how hard was THAT!?!?) custom_images/emoticons/shocked.gif :)

I just can't like it, yet. I am sure it will great for its intended purpose, but for asthetics I prefer our stock interior the way it is, but this is until I see the finished product.

Looks sweet. Lots of time put into that. I like it a lot that you did something so unique instead of putting a carbon fiber kit and calling it custom. Can't wait to see what else comes of it.

BTW Kinda reminds me of the dash on my buddies ski boat.

Looks awesome Josh. I would have finished it in carbon fiber tough or painted fiberglass. You going to finish the bottom in a contrasting color? The bottom in painted glass would look great and you wouldn't have the glare to contend with.

I'll be posting pics of my carbon fiber dash work tonite. I molded the dash kit into the bezel and finished the whole thing in carbon as well as the driverside crash pad, headlight switch panel and then will do the airbag cover and glove box on the passenger side next.

I'm just gonna be honest. While it's beautiful craftsmanship and I'm sure it will work beautifully, I don't like it. But thats just me :)

While I love the idea of converting a dashboard, I worry about the rattles and clanks that something like that might cause, especially with a stiff suspension.....

My hats off to ya if the end result is clean and silent......

Personally I don't really like the look, but then I notice the speakers and realised that for sound quality this is way better.

That is some amazing work, you must have logged many a hour working on it. As mentioned before, I really can't say that I would want that....but it is some of the best custom work I have ever seen. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it is done.

Side note: I almost pissed myself when I read Craigs post. In the first sentence he mentions covering it with carbon fiber....who would have guessed. ;)

ok sunni- the stuff in the middle are the digital gauges(voltmeter, oil press, speedo, tach, water temp, and fuel level). the two center speakers you can see in the window reflection are FOCAL 5" subwoofers.
-some screens make the dash look a bit blue, but its black and the pic was taken at night with only a flash.sorry.
-the entire dashboard was taken out and the only remaining stock pieces are the two vents on the outside an the defroster vent. the rest is fully made from scratch.under. from start to where it is now took 6 days total work time 8-10hrs per day.
-keane, ill be down in texas at the padre islands march 2,3 for USACi! the back half of the car will not be done till middle May(i want to get a ballpark of sq scoring before i go too much further in case something needs to change equiptment wise).
-craig, i actually thought of doing carbon before i covered it but the reflections would have been crazy and since its a SQ car, that wouldnt do. it would have been really bad ass though! im still working on the center console and underdash and it will be one piece-might just do carbon on that. we'll have to see!
anything i missed? let me know. ill keep everything posted.

 not sure what I think... You've simplified the interior too much I think. But then again, in art you're never supposed to judge a work in progress. I'll keep my mouth shut til its done

1BadCat:

seeing that you don't have the PM function on I will have to ask here.... the most obvious question on my mind is this: are you going to be selling any of your stock dash pieces???????????????

and mod hounds, remember who asked first.. so I call dibbs!
