Three of my friends and I were at the bowling alley when my friend Huff came down in his CRX. Afterwards we decided to cruise up the highway (45mph speed limit) to get some drinks at Smiths. I had my car full of people and Huff was the only one in his CRX. I would estimate that I had about an additional 670lbs in my car. Anyway we were going about 45mph when all of the sudden Huff pulls up next to me wanting to start a race. I saw another car behind us, but I wasn't paying much attention to it. I dropped the gear back into 3rd (I should have gone to second) and gunned it. We were side by side. I couldn't lose him and he couldn't lose me. I stopped the race at about 54mph because the cops around here won't usually give you a ticket unless you are going at least 10mph over the speed limit. He then passed me and changed lanes in front of me. I started flashing my headlights at him just for the fun of it. Then I notice the car behind me that I wasn't paying to before was a cop being as he had on his reds and blues. Huff and I both pulled over fearing the worst. He came to my window and this is how it went:
"Do you have a little road rage tonight son?"
"No."
"Oh, do you know that guy up there?"
"Yes, he's my friend"
"Oh, well let me just have a look at your license."
He then took my license back to his car to check it or something. I looked up where Huff was just a moment ago, but he was gone. A few minutes later the cop brought back my license and told me that I could go.....? I could go? That's it! He didn't do anything. No ticket!...No warning!...No nothing! I drove up to Smiths and found Huff on the other side of the building hiding from the cop. He said that he didn't want a ticket and decided to drive off when the cop took my license. We were all laughing about the whole experience for the rest of the night. The sad part of this story was I could have pulled ahead of Huff in the beginning if I wouldn't have had all those people in my car!
