View Full Version : Take it all off???
Now zip your pants back up Tony, this is a legitimate question(and does NOT involve 40 year olds;) ).
Today I washed/waxed the cat, and noticed the "V" is gone from the back. Now just says 6. There is a ton of sticky crap used to secure the emblems on there, and I wanted to know how to remove both the current gunk and the "6" too. I may just take off the "cougar" while I'm at it. Any advise?

I used Bug/Tar remover to take off my letters, but just in case I still have mine if you want to buy a V Pat. Just
kidding, if you want it, it's yours.

LOL
Yeah I think I am going to de-badge my car sooner or later. I guess you use a heat gun to get the gue gooey in the back and then take fishing string behind them to get them off. Then use hte bug and tar remover to take the letters off. Then wash your ride. You could probably use dental floss. BUt I think flossing the cats ass wont become a popular saying anytime soon.

Guys, to reemove the adhesive left behind, just use Mineral Spirits. It wont attack the clear coat but will dissolve the adhesive. Cheap and easy.

You can use that stuff on anything. Its almost as useful as Duct tape!

I used dental floss to pry it loose, and then used just a lil bit of goo-gone... Just wish that damn mercury emblem on the back didn't have holes in it or that ***** would be gone too :)

i used that method to take off the mercury emblem, sled. the holes weren't a problem. A "Ford" badge from a Probe covered the holes up well :)
Oops, wrong button:flushed:
I totally forgot about it!!! I had so much planned to do today since it was gonna be nice; I even worked waaaaay long yesterday to have today off, and I forgot till I read this- guess I gotta work in the dark tonight:(.
And for those of you who have seen my blue scheme on the front upper and lower grills( I never liked them), I have redone them. They are silver again, but the lowers are a new design- totally original (I think). Not just painted factory, and not wire mesh. I'll post pics, but it will be a while.(not the prototype grill inserts I'm planning)
