why is it that everytime someone asks the question "what's the best upgrade for the i4 cougar?", someone's gotta pop up on here with the smart ass reply of "best upgrade is a v6 or v8"????

every time i see that smart ass reply... i get a little fired up... cause well... it really pisses me off! for those of you that well... are too ignorant to understand some of the reasons us i4 owners purchased the i4, here's a few reasons why...

1) they're cheaper than the v6 cougars
2) they're cheaper to drive than the v6 cougars
3) they're cheaper to maintain than the v6 cougars
4) they leave a WHOLE LOT of options available for us to customize...
5) gas mileage as high as 40-45 mpg!!!
6) up to 550 miles per tank of gas!!!

so um yeah... if you're gonna make the smart ass comment of "v6 or v8..." (which btw... if you had any common sense at all, you'd know it's impossible to fit a v8 under there with the tranny), just leave your bs at the door... i think i speak for all the i4 owners in saying... we're tired of hearing it!

I second that notion..

And it's funny because I have talked with a lot of the V6 owners.. and they are wishing they knew then what they know now about the i4 and the focus.. they all say they wish they had an i4 instead.

I don't wish I had the I-4, but if you are serious about modding a Cougar it could make good sense to buy the Zetec.

With the 1,900 saved from getting a Zetec you can purchase and install I/H/E and have some money left over. From there pick up a turbo kit available because of the Focus and your talking about a easy 14 second car with incredible looks for under/at $20,000.:)

Past that, a N02 system ($1,000) could put a I-4 kitty in the 13s....
