I only just noticed that the chrome V6 badge from my cougar is missing :( all that is left is the adhesive.

So do I buy a new one from mercury or do I remove the adhesive and go stealth ;)

Go stealth. :) It'd be fun to race dumbasses who think you're an I4 coug....

I had the same thing happen last Friday only it was the cougar head emblem that was on my hood (the special edition has it there instead of the grill) There were some kids hanging around our parking structure and I chased them away from my car, I have a feeling they stole it, it was on there that morning and the adhesive looked very clean, not like it had lost it's sticky. I got some "Goo Gone" it's an orange based oil and it cleaned it off without hurting the paint, I then went over it with some Meguires scratch remover and then waxed it. The paint is fine and you can't tell it was ever there. I actually like the hood better without the emblem, I just wish I had been the one to remove it, I wanted to take the mercury emblem off the back and put the cougar head on the back. Oh well. Good luck.

WD-40 works good too, but it does strip the wax off the clearcoat in the areas around the adhesive.. :)

Done it using googone, wow so easy :) I made sure to give it a good wash and wax afterwards, which ended up as a full detailing and taking most of the day ;) You would never know it was there :)
