Well, Rich (MrFroge) posted about it in the 'oh so quiet' thread, and I'd like to find out if we have enough folks to do something. I think it'd be neat, maybe we can all dyno our cars (depending on cost, of course) and see what they've got to sell. :) Who knows, he might even give us some tips or pointers... :biggrin:

gimme a date to work with and i could give you a better answer. i wouldnt wanna dyno mine since its pretty much stock still, but if they have the intakes there i might just think of gettin it then. so sounds pretty good, just come up with a date best for you folks... peez :)

By the way some one was looking for custom exhaust/muffler work. Albert doesn't do street legal work but the guys at South County Muffler (Morgan Hill) do great work at reasonable prices. They did the custom setup on mine. :)

I'll be unavailable until the first of the year .. I won't be wired until late December.

While we're waiting for Rich to get back after the 1st... does anyone know of a good place(s) in the Bay Area to photograph your car?

There are a few nice spots around calero and out in that area, you know nice country lanes and scenery. I took these http://home.dezaf.net/car/ on christmas day. Also it has the bonus of being an excellent drive :))

I know a few places around that are good drives and are scenic, but they just aren't good places to take pictures. :(

Any of the below are basically what I'm looking for:

1- A beach with sand that I could drive onto (real slow with about 5psi in my tires :tongue: I'd be going with a friend who has a truck in case I get stuck)

2- A place that has ridiculous amounts of rocks that I could actually get the Coug up on without damaging it..

3- The middle of some kind of business park courtyard where a car has no business being.

4- Somewhere right near the water, or on a cliff.

I have my reasons for these ;) but I know any of them would come out as a really good picture.. it's all a matter of finding a place...

hey guys, what is going on with setting up the meeting date...why don't we do it next week, cause next week in san jose convention center have a national auto show and i expect to see the new S type concept cougar...if you guys want we can see the show first before going to mirko's racing.

Well, sounds good, except that that's too soon (I'm going on vacation soonish for a week) and ... are they really going to show the Cougar S? Since they aren't going to build it, seems kinda silly to show it. :(

Isn't the Cougar S just a cougar with an SVT engine? I'm sure it'd still be cool to see though.

I would really appreciate Pictures of said Cougar S cause last I heard they CAN'T show it anymore;) Unless this is a custom car show or something, and Ford decided to let it loose one more time.....

But in answer to your question, the "S" WAS going to basically have the SVT contour engine, but the reason it was killed is that the SVT people wouldn't let Mercury use their parts, and Mercury didn't have the budget to come up with their own engine designs, thus killing all of our mustang killing hopes and dreams;)

The Cougar S CONCEPT car had AWD and like 240hp:biggrin: it was a BAAAAADDDDDDDD MOFO;)

Actually guys there were two versions of the "cougar S" the first one became public in 2000 with a 360hp v8 w/ all wheel drive, ram air and quad exhaust, this was tagged the "Cougar eliminator." Then in 2001 they introduced the "Cougar S" which was 196 hp v6, dual exhaust and front wheel drive. kinda a step in the wrong direction huh? ALSO it was the lack of booming sales that hampered Mercury's budget so they just figured that if they put money into the cougar S they wouldn't gain enough back... thus killing the project and rumors of the canceling of our beautiful cougars in 2004!

Well yeah of course the sales had something to do with it, but we have been told this DIRECTLY from Dan (the head of the Cougar Team) at the LM headquarters in IRVINE that the cost to reproduce the engine was the straw that broke the camels back:) This was also confirmed to be by MY NEIGHBOR who was on that team up until just recently when he left LM.....

Well Albert and I finely were able to get together .. :flushed: .. The GOOD NEWS is that he is will to have an open house for NORCAL NECO and it can be on either a Saturday or Sunday, which ever will work for us (and the contour folks also) ..:( .. and the BAD NEWS (?) is that it will have to be after sebring ( Mar 13-16) and not interfere with other challenge Cup racing .. Albert is getting his new RSX ready for the first race..

So if you'd like to visit the shop it looks like around the middle of April .. say the 20th or 21st.. How does that sit with everyone??
