Does anyone know why this would happen?? My amp shuts off? i will be driving around or just sittig in the parking lot and it will shut off and i lose my subs? i have a kenwood 1000w amp and 2 jl10w's could it be the wiring to the amp? i use to have a crappy baja 400w amp should i re wire it or what? thanks

Try checking your ground wire and possibly relocating it. For this size amp you should be running at least 4 gauge power wire. Also, try and keep your ground wire less than two feet long. Your ground wire should also be 4 gauge. Hope This Helped.

check the ohm load on the amp and check for overheating

I had a 500 watt amp that would do that every once in a while, it was usually just from overheating... After powering down briefly it would work again. Where is your amp located in your car and does it have adequate ventillation? Shady is also right on the ground wire.. for that size amp.. you need a sizeable ground to match.

thanks for that it is located in my trunck and it has a fan on it ... ill have to try to get some new wire and just re-wire it and hope it works thanks

the Wires is not enough to handle the new amp. check the wire...Over heat
