Ok... just heard this week that the following things are happening in the car audio world... im assuming that Keane will be able to answer at least one of them...

1) Polk has just stopped producing ALL car audio... and they'll announce it to the public first of the year? Meaning they'll only produce home audio... is this correct?

2) MB Quart was just bought out by Rockford Fosgate... Meaning their equip is going to fall into the RF groove of things... is this correct?

3) XM Satellite Radio is on the verge of bankruptcy... due to the lack of sales in equipment and number of subscribers, it's costing them more to provide the service than the profit they're making... is this correct?

Let me know... cause well... i'd really like to know if this stuff is true...
(EDIT: I head all these things from people who work in the car audio industry...)

ROCKFORD CORPORATION ACQUIRES MB QUART
Charlotte, North Carolina.....October 2001.....The assets of MB QUART Akustik GmbH and MB QUART Electronics USA, Inc., have been acquired by Rockford Corporation effective September 1, 2001.

One of the first car audio brands in the world and certainly one of the most successful, Rockford Fosgate has established itself as a premier force in the industry for almost 30 years. Through innovation and growth, Rockford has continued to drive the industry to new levels of customer awareness and business achievement. The acquisition of MB QUART is consistent with Rockford Corporation’s direction as a growth-oriented industry presence.

As an acquired brand, MB QUART still maintains differentiation in key areas. The high-end market position of MB QUART is due largely to the company’s commitment to engineering and development at its facility in Obrigheim, Germany, and this will continue. In order to address the uniqueness of its high-end customers and dealers, MB QUART has a separate sales and marketing staff to promote the brand and ensure it’s individuality. Key people responsible for the company’s success in the American market will be joining MB QUART in its new offices in Tempe, Ariz.

Please call MB QUART at 1-800-962-7757 for more information or visit our Web site at www.mbquart.com. All press releases are accessible from our Web site.

Damn, that was the only rumor I could tell you was correct. I haven't even heard the other two.
